The recently unveiled and released Breitling Avenger Hurricane absolutely kills it as a great looking guys watch and is almost certainly worth it for those in the market for a casual, high quality timepiece. We’re usually the first to lament the generally down trend in fashion where people are no longer really dressing up, there’s casual and business casual and that’s about it now. Fair enough, times change, no big deal. We’re watch people, we love watches, especially in the digital age, mostly because we’re all trying to figure out how to spend less time with our smart phones and smart devices and more time actually getting back in touch with the real world, so having an actual traditional watch, is very important to us. If you manage to leave your smart phone at home so that you can catch a normal dinner with friends or family you still want to know what time it is, right? While it would be great to have a collection of amazing watches that you can swap out and wear for any occasion, in fact, a writers our budget doesn’t really allow for that. Enter the Breitling Avenger Hurricane. A casual seeming watch, constructed of a new material that the company simply calls “Breitlight”. It’s a slick number that promises to be super light on the wrist, although have enough bulk to be visible. This is the Breathing answer to the go anywhere, match anything, look good under any circumstances entry.
It retails for just north of $8,000 so it is by no means inexpensive, but clearly less so than a Rolex or any other of the super lux timepieces we see in all the regular glossy magazines. Maybe an appropriate term would be entry super lux.
